Holocaust

The Holocaust, also known as the Shoah, was the genocide of European Jews during World War II. Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi Germany and its collaborators systematically murdered six million Jews across German-occupied Europe, around two-thirds of Europe’s Jewish population.

When David and his men came to the town and found it burned down, and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive, David and the troops with him broke into tears, until they had no strength left for weeping. I Samuel 30:3-4 TheIsraelBible.com

Israel’s day of commemoration for the Jews who perished in the Holocaust is called Yom Hazikaron laShoah ve-laG’vurah (‘Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day’), known colloquially in Israel and abroad as Yom HaShoah and in English as Holocaust Remembrance Day, or Holocaust Day, and it is a national memorial day. In Israel on that day, there is a siren that commemorates Jews who perished, and the heroism of survivors and rescuers.

Although the Holocaust and everything that happened then, the state of Israel was established only a few years after the Holocaust in 1948.

Nowadays there are still a lot of antisemitism regarding the Holocaust but Israel is staying strong and keeping the prophecy of the Promised Land.

Now, if you obey Hashem your God, to observe faithfully all His commandments which I enjoin upon you this day, Hashem your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. Deuteronomy 28:1 TheIsraelBible.com
