Hezbollah has used a drone to strike an Islamic State position along the Lebanese-Syria border, in a first public declaration by the Lebanese terror group.
In a video released by the Hezbollah controlled Al-Mayadeen satellite network, which appears to be taken from the drone, two types of munitions are shown, including one with a tail fin, dropping to the ground and exploding on their targets.
An official within the military alliance fighting with the Syrian government told Reuters that it was the first time Hezbollah had publicly declared its use of drone weapons.
Hezbollah drone attacks ISIS
Hezbollah, along with the Lebanese army and the Syrian army on the other side of the border, have recently launched separate campaigns to root out the Islamic State along the border region. Any joint operation between the Lebanese Army and the Syrian Army and Hezbollah forces is politically sensitive due to support the Lebanese Army receives from the United States and other western countries.
