In a video lasting a full 21 minutes, Hamza bin Laden, the youngest son of the late al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, has threatened to carry out attacks against the United States for revenge over his father’s assassination.
Released on Saturday by As-Sahab, Al-Qaeda’s media arm, the video, entitled “We are all Osama” serves as a warning to America of Hamza’s plans to direct numerous terror attacks against the western country for killing bin Laden Senior.
“If you think that your sinful crime that you committed in Abbottabad has passed without punishment, then you thought wrong,” he said, referring to the Pakistani city where his father was hiding before US NAVY SEALs raided the compound, killing Osama and several members of his family. After ensuring the 54-year-old al-Qaeda leader was truly dead, the SEALs proceeded to dump Osama’s body at sea. The operation was successfully executed on May 2, 2011.
But Hamza isn’t only using his father’s death as cause for waging jihad against the west, rather he chose to include America’s continued “oppression” of Muslims throughout the world among the list of reasons why the US should fear all threats from the terrorist group.
“We will continue striking you and targeting you in your country and abroad in response to your oppression of the people of Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia and the rest of the Muslim lands that did not survive your oppression,” he said, according to a translation posted by the Daily Pakistan.
As part of his speech, Hamza chastised America for its actions, saying that the country should be held accountable for the decisions of its leaders and called US President Barack Obama “the black chief of the criminal gang in the White House.”
This is not the first time young bin Laden has been revealed to encourage acts of terror. In 2015, Hamza called for ‘lone wolves’ to carry out attacks against the West, similar to the methods employed by the Islamic State (ISIS). “Take the battlefield from Kabul, Baghdad and Gaza to Washington, London, Paris, and Tel Aviv, and to take it to all the American, Jewish, and Western interests in the world,” he had said in a statement translated by SITE Intelligence.
Hamza’s current whereabouts are not known, but it is speculated that he may be preparing to take over leadership of al-Qaeda, reported The Times of Israel.
Despite his youth, analysts believe Hamza has been bred for leadership since he was a child. When Osama’s compound was raided in the 2011 operation, US forces found documents which revealed that he was training his youngest son to one day take over as head of the terror group.
