An IDF soldier was stabbed by a Palestinian terrorist Tuesday morning in the southern hills of Hebron in the first such attack in over 24 hours.
The soldier was stabbed during a “violent riot” in the village of Beir Awwa, the army said. The terrorist was shot and killed during the attack.
The soldier, identified as a commander in the Givati infantry brigade, sustained light injures. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The Palestinian Authority Health Ministry identified the terrorist as 24-year-old Adi Hashem al Masalmeh from Beit Awwa.
In a separate incident, an Israeli was killed near Kiryat Arba, located south of Hebron, after Palestinian hurled objects at his car. The man was hit by a passing vehicle when he exited his car following the attack.
