Three separate stabbing attacks over Thursday has left Israelis on a state of high alert. A Jewish man was seriously wounded at a light rail in northern Jerusalem, an IDF soldier and three others were wounded in Tel Aviv and an Israeli was critically wounded in Kiryat Arba near Hebron.

The light rail victim, 25, identified as a religious yeshiva student, was stabbed in the neck by a 19-year-old Palestinian from East Jerusalem. He was evacuated by emergency personnel to Shaare Zedek Hospital with the knife still lodged in his neck.

“He was stabbed in the neck. He was evacuated in serious condition to the trauma unit at Shaare Zedek. He was fully conscious and communicated,” said Nachman Ravivo, a Magen David Adom volunteer, to Channel 2.

The terrorist was “neutralized” within minutes of the attack, police said. He remains in police custody and is being interrogated by security officials.

A second Israeli, identified as the light rail security guard, is said to have been very lightly injured in the attack after wrestling the terrorist to the ground, preventing him from fleeing the scene. The attack occurred just after noon at the light rail stop close to Ammunition Hill and the Israel Police’s national headquarters.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and Jerusalem Police Chief Moshe Edri were at the scene of the attack.

The second attack occurred in Tel Aviv at approximately 3 pm near the Defense Ministry’s headquarters on Begin Avenue. Reports indicate that the terrorist stabbed a soldier using a screwdriver, grabbed her gun and then fled the scene. Three others were also injured. Police confirmed that they “neutralized” the terrorist, who is believed to have worked at a nearby construction site.

A spokesman for MDA told media that the soldier suffered a knife wound to the head but miraculously only suffered light injuries.

The third stabbing attack occurred around 3:50 pm, less than an hour after the Tel Aviv stabbing. One Israeli has been seriously wounded. The terrorist reportedly fled the scene of the attack and into Hebron. Israeli security forces have launched a manhunt in the area in search of the terrorist.

Thursday’s stabbing incidents come after six major terror attacks took place across Israel on Wednesday.
