Following a recent wave of terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria, a joint operation by the IDF, the Israeli Police and the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet), led to the arrest of six Palestinians on terrorism related charges.

The six men were part of a terror cell that were in the midst of planning lethal attacks against Israelis.

The terrorists were identified as Mahmad Arhim Naif Satuf, 22, Basel Khaled a-Rauf Rimawi, 20, Wasim Eilan Osama Halabi, 19, Mahmoud Amil Ghasem Rimawi, 19, Mahmad Namer Mohammed Dar Satuf, 23, and Mahmad Fahr Nashaat Dar Taah, 20 all of whom are residents of the same Palestinian village of Beit Rima.

According to declassified information released by the Shin Bet, the terrorists previously targeted the town of Halamish, which is near the Palestinian Authority controlled city of Ramallah, and the Elisha Pre-Military Academy.

Israeli security and intelligence officials believe the terror cell are behind several Molotov cocktail and pipe bomb attacks at the aforementioned locations in January 2015.

According to the Shin Bet, the explosives were made by combining scrap metal and fireworks, and were delivered by a car belonging to Satuf. The car has since been confiscated by the police.

This arrest follows previous busts of other terror groups in the Binyamin area of the country. According to the Shin Bet’s statement, these arrests “underscore the threat posed by the activities of such local [terrorist] cells, and the high motivation their members have to carry out terrorist attacks.”
