Suriname and Israel announced on Monday that the South American country would open an embassy in Jerusalem.

“Today, during our meeting in Jerusalem, Surinamese Foreign Minister Albert Ramdin informed me that his country plans to soon open an embassy in Jerusalem,” tweeted Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.

To date, the United States, Honduras, Guatemala and Kosovo have embassies in Jerusalem.

Ramdin told Reuters the exact timing for the move was unknown.

“We don’t know yet,” he acknowledged. “We have expressed the intention. The consultation on how and what is going to start now.”
