Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett spoke on Thursday with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The discussion focused mostly on Iran’s nuclear program. Secretary Blinken updated PM Bennett on the negotiations with Iran in Vienna with world powers.
Bennett referred to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report that was published during the negotiations. The report reveals that Iran has begun the process of enriching uranium to the level of 20% purity with advanced centrifuges at its facility in Fordow. Bennett added that Tehran was executing “nuclear blackmail” as a negotiation tactic and that it has to be answered with an immediate cessation of negotiations and by concrete steps taken by the major powers.
The two leaders also spoke about the Omicron variant, replenishing the Iron Dome as well as the construction of the Jewish community Atarot.
