Following Black Friday, Cyber Monday is a day for e-commerce transactions. It falls annually on the Monday after Thanksgiving in the United States.

Three years after publication, The Israel Bible has risen up the ranks and today, on Cyber Monday, became the #1 Best Selling Bible in the Torah category on Amazon, the world’s largest bookstore. “I am thrilled that so many Jews and Christians are reading The Israel Bible and finally getting on the same page,” said Rabbi Weisz to Israel365 News. “It was always our dream to have an impact on how people all over the world see Israel and I pray that even more people understand and appreciate the Biblical significance of the deep relationship between the Land and People of Israel.”

The Israel Bible is a bilingual English-Hebrew version of the 24 books that constitute the Tanakh, the Hebrew name for the Bible. Edited by Rabbi Tuly Weisz and published in June 2018 for the 70th anniversary of the Israeli Declaration of Independence, it is the world’s first Bible centered around the Land of Israel, the People of Israel, and the dynamic relationship between them. Designed for both Jewish and non-Jewish readers alike.

Its 2,200 pages contain more than 1,000 study notes. The Israel Bible offers a unique commentary that seeks to explain God’s focus on the Land of Israel alongside the original Hebrew text and the New Jewish Publication Society translation. All 929 chapters highlight verses that relate to Israel, including relevant quotes and perspectives from prime ministers, as well as abundant maps, charts, and illustrations. Verses that are directly connected to the Land of Israel are boxed in gray and include vowelized Hebrew, a clear English translation and a transliteration that benefits those who are not yet fluent Hebrew readers.

“For 2,000 years the Bible was the No. 1 source of division between Jews and Christians,” Rabbi Weisz said. “My hope is that this Bible will become a source of unity between the two peoples.”

The Israel Bible has over 370 global ratings giving it a rating of 4.7 out of a possible 5 stars.

“There is no other Bible exclusive to Israel, which is the miracle our generation has seen come to life,” Rabbi Weisz explained. “A new Bible coming forth from Israel and sending the light of Torah into the world is the embodiment of Isaiah’s Prophecy.”

And the many peoples shall go and say: “Come, Let us go up to the Mount of Hashem, To the House of the God of Yaakov; That He may instruct us in His ways, And that we may walk in His paths.” For instruction shall come forth from Tzion, The word of Hashem from YerushalayimIsaiah 2:3

“Other Bibles simply don’t do this, don’t embody this prophecy in the way the Israel Bible does,” Rabbi Weisz said.

The vision of a Bible rooted in the land of Israel first came to Rabbi Weisz in 2012 when he established Israel 365, a nongovernmental organization that serves as a bridge between the Jews living in Israel and the nations of the world.

Rabbi Weisz’s vision clearly resonates with many. The Israel Bible has a 4.5 rating on Amazon and over 300 reviews from prominent faith leaders, both Jewish and Christian. It’s multi-faith relevance is apparent when considering that it is rated highly in both the Jewish Bible and the Christian Bible History & Culture categories.

“The Bible has been a source of division between Jews and Christians for a millennium,” Rabbi Weisz explained. “The Christians have the New Testament and we have the Torah. But now, when we connect it to the land of Israel, the Bible can be the point that connects Jews and Christians since the Bible and Israel are really what we have in common.”

Rabbi Weisz said that just as printing the Gutenberg Bible changed Western Civilization, “printing a Bible like this can bring about enormous change.”

There are several other factors that contribute to the new edition’s popularity, according to Rabbi Weisz.

The Israel Bible is the first Orthodox, English-translated Bible published in more than two decades. It is a 2,200-page, 929-chapter Bible that includes contemporary commentaries, maps, charts, and illustrations. The original Hebrew text appears alongside a modified version of the New Jewish Publication Society translation.  Each page has lessons and commentary written by a team of Israeli rabbis and scholars that highlight the relationship between the land and the people of Israel. The online version can be accessed at www.theisraelbible.com.
