Hamas took responsibility for a Kornet anti-tank guided missile that was fired on Wednesday morning, hitting an IDF jeep near the community of Netiv Ha’asara. Two people were critically wounded and a third was seriously wounded in the attack, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service. It was reported that one of the wounded has since died.
The missile fire was immediately followed by a barrage of mortars and sniper fire that were intended to prevent medical personnel from rendering aid. Unconfirmed reports claimed the subsequent attack was part of an attempt to kidnap the wounded Israelis.
On Monday, a man was injured by an anti-tank missile fired toward his vehicle near Gaza.
