Aramean Christian leader Father Gabriel Nadaf sent a letter to congratulate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his party’s recent election victory, Israeli media reported.
A Greek Orthodox priest and founder of the Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum, Nadaf posted on his Facebook page that he “was confident and sure that the new government that is going to be established with [Netanyahu’s] leadership will continue to support the Israeli Christians Recruitment Forum, lead by Father Gabriel.”
Nadaf is an outspoken supporter of Christian integration into Israeli society. His own son joined the Israel Defense Forces in December, and he continues to promote Christian enlistment.
In his words to Netanyahu, Nadaf expressed his hope that the Israeli Prime Minister would work towards the same goals, just as he had in his previous terms, as “integration of the Christians has a significant role in the Israeli society for true coexistence and for the representation of the beautiful face of Israel around the world.”
