Palestinian Media Regurgitates 2015 Story of Church Arson to Generate Antisemitism on Xmas

December 22, 2019

< 1 minute

The ‘Palestine Post 24’ news outlet posted a news story of a church arson that they blamed on “Israeli settlers” last week. There’s just one problem – the story was from 2015 and not only does the article fail to mention that important fact, they reported it as if it were recent. The timing of the post was also noteworthy as it came just days before the Holiday of Christmas when Christians flock to Israeli cities like Nazareth and Bethlehem en masse.

The story surrounded a Catholic Church in northern Israel called ‘Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish’. Back in 2015. The church was burned down and blamed on Israelis. But not only did the Palestine Post post the story as if it happened yesterday, the piece also claimed that the Israeli government itself was behind the attack as an excerpt from the article said: “Such attacks have been on the rise because the perpetrators, who are being backed directly by the Israeli government, go unpunished.”

This article is just the latest in Palestinian propaganda against Israel leading up to Christmas. Last week, Palestinian media outlets promoted the travel restriction on Gazan Christians to Bethlehem on Christmas. Anti-Israel churches from around the world rallied to compel Israel to allow their entry with the Church of Scotland going to far to call entrance to Bethlehem a “right”.
