The Kumah Flag Project

The Israeli flag – a proud symbol of the miraculous achievement of the Jewish people’s sovereignty on their ancient ancestral homeland in a gleaming, growing state. Streaming blue and white across the land, it shows everyone that we are home, united once again in the mission of building a burgeoning life for our people and being a source of light for the world.

The Israeli flag is a symbol of honor wherever it flies – but all the more so in the most strategic, historic, precious and contentious places in our country, where their colors broadcast a message of Jewish strength, security, and self-determination.

Friends of Israel around the world ensure that Israeli flags fly on the Mount of Olives, in the City of David, atop the Jewish community of Hebron, and in the Muslim Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem. The flags are kept crisp and new, to ensure that this symbol of Israel makes maximum impact on the hearts and minds of all who see them.

But when these beautiful flags have become worn out and completed their service, should they go into the garbage?

Now, thanks to the KUMAH FLAG PROJECT, flags from Israel’s most important sites will be collected when they are frayed, and retired to the care of those who truly appreciate the significance of where they have flown and for what they stand. The KUMAH FLAG PROJECT seeks to raise money for the provision of new flags to these and other special locations, and to make these unique and rare keepsakes available to lovers of Israel around the world.

Retired Israeli flags have already began flying outside and adorning homes (and even sukkot!) of people who have contacted us to express their joy and satisfaction in possessing these exceptional flags.
