At this year’s 37th Annual A Night To Honor Israel event at the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, held by John Hagee Ministries (JHM), 12 charity and non-profit organizations from Israel and the United States were awarded with more than $1.45 million in donations. In a golden age for Jewish-Christian relations, the event emphasized commonalities such as support for the State of Israel and belief in the unbreakable Biblical covenant between God and the Jewish people.

Annually,  the donations from JHM’s national television audience are given out at this event to allow various non-profit organizations to continue their work for Israel and the Jewish people. Carrying out the Biblical and moral mandate to bless Israel, JHM has raised more than $100 million to Israeli and Jewish charities. At 2016 “Night to Honor Israel” event, the organization gave $2 million to 21 charities. In 2017, JHM presented $2.1 million to 16 charities.

Pastor John Hagee is the founder and Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas and the founder of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), the largest pro-Israel grassroots organization in the U.S. A Night To Honor Israel also sets records as one of the longest-running Christian Zionist events in the

Following the massacre of 11 Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue on October 27, this year, Pastor John Hagee’s address focused on the eradication of anti-Semitism in America. Hagee led a moment of silence in memory of the innocents massacred at the Tree of Life synagogue.

Hagee declared to the Jewish community present and watching on television, “You may feel fearful, you may feel anger, rage and alone. I know that mere words are not enough to remove the grief from your heart, but hear me when I say this, you are not alone. Never again will you face the horrors of the past without the Christian brothers and sisters in America standing with you in an unbreakable bond.”

He continued, “I have said it before and will say it again. If a line has to be drawn, then draw the line around both Christians and Jews, because we are one and we are together. We will work to snuff out the poison of anti-Semitism from the veins of the United States of America.”

In light of the recent rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment in the US and in Europe, San Antonio Rabbi Aryeh Scheinberg of Congregation Rodfei Sholom (Pursuers of Peace) thanked Pastor Hagee for not believing that “this is a losing battle.” He compared Hagee to Jacob, who wrestled with the angel and prevailed, being named Israel. “So too have you prevailed in your goal of bringing Jews and Christians together and your goal of supporting Israel and the Jewish people,” Scheinberg announced.

“With your support, we stand tall in Israel and in America as well,” he said.

The amount given out in 2018, is less than half that of 2015 “Night to Honor Israel” – where $3.2 million was disbursed to 23 Israeli charities.

The day following the Night to Honor Israel, Hagee and Scheinberg left for Israel together, accompanied by 600 evangelical Christians.

“The Jewish people do not occupy Israel, they own the land of Israel by the hand of God,” declared Hagee.

Nationally syndicated radio host Dennis Prager, keynoted the event and maintained, “Wherever anti-Semitism has taken root in a society, the society has self-destructed.”

Referring to the Biblical commandment to bless Israel, he said, “God blesses those who bless the Jews, and curses those who curse them. America has blessed the Jews, it has been the most blessed country in world history – it is not a coincidence.”
