Conan O’Brien, the American late-night television host, visited Ziv Hospital in Tsfat on Thursday, and after meeting with staff and patients, announced that the medical facility deserved international recognition for treating Syrians.

“I am amazed and excited by what is being done here at Ziv for the sake of people from a neighboring country and an enemy, and I think you are the ones who need to receive the Nobel Peace Prize,” O’Brien told the medical staff.

Syria is embroiled in a six-year civil war that has killed over a quarter-million of its civilians and created a humanitarian crisis. Israel has provided health care for several thousand Syrians over the past four years. Wounded Syrians who arrive at the border are taken by IDF ambulance to the hospital.

O’Brien arrived in Israel last Friday to film his TBS special, “Conan Without Borders” that will be aired later this month.

Even Israeli Prime Minister got into the spirit of the occasion and made a semi-humorous video greeting the television star.
