A Palestinian woman pulled a knife and ran at an IDF soldier stationed at the Cave of the Patriarchs Saturday afternoon, but changed direction, running toward a playground full of children, after the soldier pointed his weapon at her.

At 4:45 pm Saturday afternoon, a 17-year old Palestinian woman approached the IDF security checkpoint at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. She then pulled a knife and began to charge at the Border Guard soldier stationed at the checkpoint. The soldier identified the threat and aimed his weapon at the terrorist, who then changed direction and began to run toward a nearby playground where children were playing. The soldier ran and placed himself between the terrorist and the playground. Other soldiers arrive, aiming their weapons at the terrorist, who then dropped her weapon and surrendered.

The terrorist, a resident of Hebron, was arrested without being injured.
