Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Monday with United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May in London, where he pushed for a U.S.-U.K.-Israel united front against Iranian aggression.

Iran, Netanyahu told May, “seeks to conquer the Middle East, it threatens Europe, it threatens the West, it threatens the world. And it offers provocation after provocation.”

“That’s why I welcome President [Donald] Trump’s insistence on new sanctions against Iran. I think other nations should follow suit, certainly responsible nations, and I’d like to talk to you about how we can ensure Iran’s aggression does not go unanswered,” Netanyahu added.

A spokesman for May said the U.K. shares American and Israeli concerns about Iran’s recent ballistic missile test, which purportedly violated a United Nations resolution and led to new sanctions from the Trump administration.

“It was discussed at the U.N. and we made clear our position,” the spokesman said. “With regard to the specific agreement relating to the nuclear weapons…it’s important that it is very carefully and rigorously policed. We should also be clear that it has neutralized the possibility of the Iranians acquiring nuclear weapons for more than a decade.”

May also addressed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying, “We remain committed to the two-state solution as the best way to bring peace for the future.” Her spokesman said the British leader planned to raise concerns with Netanyahu over how the “continued increase of settlement activity undermines trust.”
