In what is being touted as the Middle East’s largest domino show, Iranian organizers invited a crowd to celebrate the continued development of their nuclear program.
In a video posted by MEMRI of the event, the dominoes are seen knocking over all of the perceived problems that Iran has encountered in growing its nuclear program. This includes assassination attempts on Iranian officials, the Stuxnet computer virus, interference from the CIA, the collapse of an American made drone, and ISIS.
At the end of the video a mock missile is seen being fired at an Israeli flag, also made of dominos, knocking it down. The demolition of the flag garnered raucous cheers from the crowd.
The film was shot at a domino show in the Iranian city of Gonabad on February 16. The video comes at a very tense point in discussion between the P5+1 and Iran regarding the future of the Iranian nuclear program.
While Iran continues to insist during negotiations that its nuclear program is for peaceful uses only, Western powers are not convinced. Israel, who has been vehemently against forming a “bad deal” with Iran, has been repeatedly threatened by high ranking members of the Iranian regime, who as recently as this past Saturday threatened to demolish Tel Aviv in less than ten minutes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has continually warned the west against allowing the Iranian nuclear program to continue. Netanyahu sees the proposed deal of easing sanction in order to garner help defeating ISIS as absurd, and claims that a nuclear Iran is not only a danger to Israel but to the entire world.
The prime minister is set to address both houses of Congress on March 3 in what has become a highly controversial speech. Netanyahu defended his position in speaking before congress as a “sacred duty” even though the decision has ruffled more than a few feathers.
“I’m going to Washington because as Prime Minister of Israel, it’s my obligation to do everything in my power to prevent the conclusion of a bad deal that could threaten the survival of the State of Israel,” he said in a recent speech to American Jewish leader.
“The current proposal to Iran would endanger Israel. It would enable Iran to break out to its first nuclear device within an unacceptably short time. And it would allow Iran to build an industrial capability to enrich uranium that could provide the fuel for many bombs in the coming years. A regime that openly calls for Israel’s destruction would thus have finally the means to realize its genocidal aims,” said the prime minister.
Based on this recent video and the veritable threats that Iran and their proxies have created on Israel’s northern border, it seems that Netanyahu’s concerns are very well founded.
