The world is enlightened. Advances in science, technology and medicine have opened brave new doors of opportunity. We are culturally superior through tolerance and spiritualism. We make better decisions with fewer errors. Mankind has advanced.

Mankind has advanced. Is that true? We certainly have become better at manipulating natural laws, but have we improved our character, our moral condition? Is there less famine, less corruption, less needless death? Are we confused about what is right, and what is wrong?  Have we given over our moral compass for the sake of convenience? Is it a wise thing to trust our moral decisions to our government officials? Can anyone tell me the difference between tolerance and morality?

The answers to these questions are not found through our intelligence, our science or our technology. The answers are found through the restoration of the Word of God and the restoration of history. If we lose our source of truth, we are walking in darkness. History revised is an unavoidable cyclone of deadly recidivism. We cannot become advanced without a moral compass, and we cannot reject ancient delusions without the lessons taught through our past generations.

Convenience has replaced thoughtful contemplation. Instant oatmeal has become our nemesis.  Use your credit card. It’s ok, you need it now. Are you pregnant? We have a fix for that. Your life doesn’t have to be interrupted, and it’s legal. It is also immoral and without natural human compassion. We have become destitute of our future. Convenience has brought us to bankruptcy. We have lost our historical guidance. Has any nation been able to recover from destroying its next generation? The death of the first-born was once considered a plague. Now it is a blessing. What has become of basic truth? Is life truly darkness and death enlightenment?

The alarm bell should be going off, startling us into action. Euthanasia of the elderly, abortion of the unwanted and the defective are accepted as beneficial to society especially if the harvest can be used for replacements, stem cells or science. Atrocities continue while those giving voice for those that can’t speak for themselves are persecuted into silence.

Like an atrophic arm, our condition is getting worse. We are off course trusting in our technology, worshipping it as our savior, while we fly headlong toward destruction. We will soon reach the point of delusional decrepitude which makes returning to wholeness impossible, a place in which we won’t consider our course. Some in our society, I am sorry to say, are already there. They will not be corrected.

The world experienced this phenomenon in the middle of the twentieth century. All was done in the name of science and societal improvement. Experimental atrocities were performed on living human beings. Today, the unborn are being torn apart and vacuumed away as if there is no consequence to anyone. Some in the medical profession believe that the defective must be eliminated. We hear the same phrases spoken in this century: “Think about the burden on your family.” “There isn’t sufficient quality of life.” “Think about the burden on society.” “We sold baby body parts for the benefit of science.” This is the rhetoric of a death culture. Our collective conscience has been seared. There is a famous quote from Doctor Josef Mengele: “The more we do to you, the less you seem to believe we are doing it.”

We have this dissolution because we have cast away the standard bearers of truth found through the study of history and reverence for the Word of God. History stands on the hill calling out: “Remember! Remember! Learn the lessons, or repeat the rage!” The Word of God says: “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord” (Psalms 127:3) and “How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.” (Psalms 82:2-5)

The answer is a people of courage. Those who haven’t forgotten the severe admonitions of history, willing to take God at His word, must no longer be silent. It is time to show our mettle.  We are neither outnumbered nor too weak. The notion of powerlessness is part of the wicked delusion. Please read Psalm 82 again. We now know exactly what to do. Whatever God has called us to do, He will enable us to perform it. “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life:  as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” (Joshua 1:5)
