Five people were wounded in a stabbing attack in Kiryat Gat, leading authorities to close off all exits to the city in their search for the attacker. A 12-year-old girl, 58-year-old woman, 51-year-old man, a 44-year-old, and a 43-year-old man were stabbed. They are all reported to be  in stable condition.

About 250 policemen sealed off exits to the city and were aided by helicopters in their search for the attacker. Four hours after the attack, he was found hiding in a backyard. He was apprehended with the bloody knife in his possession. Police reported that he was an illegal worker from the Hebron area. Two other Arabs were arrested for aiding him in the attack.

A Bedouin man was mistaken for the attacker and apprehended by bystanders. He was injured as a result. Ten illegal workers with no connection to the incident were arrested.

Earlier on Saturday evening a Palestinian man was shot and lightly wounded by IDF officers at the Oranit bus depot near Highway 5. Soldiers approached the man for a security check and he “reacted violently.”

Saturday morning, police stopped an Arab woman with a knife near the Cave of the Patriarchs, arresting her on charges of planning an attack.

The last lethal attack in Israel was Thursday, when five people were killed in two separate attacks. Two Israelis were killed in a stabbing attack in a synagogue in Tel-Aviv. Later in the day, two terrorists killed three in a shooting attack in Gush Etzion, including one Palestinian and one American teen.
