One of the world’s biggest names in boxing is in Israel this week in a show of solidarity with the State of Israel.

Manny Pacquiao, a world champion 36-year-old Filipino boxer, is a staunch supporter of Israel and a self-described born-again Christian. Ranked as the second highest paid athlete in the world by Forbes as of 2015, Pacquiao has made a name for himself out of the ring for his devout religious beliefs.

Pacquiao’s support for the state and nation of Israel runs so deep that he even named his son, born in 2014, “Israel”. Fred Sternberg, Pacquiao’s publicist, told The Algemeiner in May 2014 that the boxer even has mezuzahs affixed to each doorpost of his home in the Philippines.

On social media, the boxer regularly quotes the Bible on his posts. He and his wife, Jinkee, have been sharing their travels across the Holy Land on Facebook and Instagram. This is their fourth trip to Israel.

Upon arriving to Israel, Pacquiao uploaded this photo of his arrival to his personal Instagram account, quoting Genesis 12 and an enthusiastic “Hello! Israel.”
