The wave of violence may have moved out of Jerusalem, but it continues unabated as Israel implements tougher security measures.
A terrorist was shot and wounded after unsuccessfully attempting to stab an IDF soldier at the junction between Ramallah and Bet El, north of Jerusalem. Earlier, two terrorists on a motorbike attacked soldiers at the Tapuah Junction in Samaria. One terrorist was shot and killed and the other is in critical condition.
In the early afternoon, two people were injured in a terrorist attack near the Light Rail station in Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem. One suffered stab wounds to his upper body while it is believed the second, in moderate condition, was hit by gunfire that neutralized the terrorist. The terrorist, an Israeli citizen, is in critical condition.
Last night, in two separate incidents, there was an attempted fire bomb attack and a drive-by shooting near the town of Ofra in Samaria. No injuries were reported and no arrests made.
Also last night, two were injured in separate incidents of Arabs throwing stones at cars.
Yesterday, a soldier was stabbed in the face in a terror attack in Hebron. The terrorist was shot and killed. A few hours late, an Arab attempted to stab soldiers in Hebron but was shot and killed without injuring anyone.
There have been 60 attacks against civilians and security personnel in the past month, resulting in ten Israelis being killed and many wounded.
The IDF has announced it will begin implementing new security measures in the Gush Etsion/ Hebron region south of Jerusalem. Soldiers will separate Palestinian and Jewish residents at the Gush Etzion Junction, which has been the site of multiple terror attacks.
Palestinian males between the ages of 15 and 25 will not be permitted to pass through Hebron’s Jewish settlement, except those that live in the surrounding area, who will be forced to undergo a thorough security check. The IDF will also close off all Palestinian parking lots in the area.
Today, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda at The Hague, to discuss what he claims is Israeli escalation of violence.
