An Israeli man was moderately wounded Sunday night in a terror stabbing attack in Judea and Samaria.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the victim, aged 26, was attacked by a group of Palestinians at a gas station located on Route 443, near Modiin. He was stabbed in the back and shoulder while filing up his car.

“He came at me from behind, I felt suddenly that I was stabbed, and I ran, I fled from him,” Yehuda, the victim, told Army Radio. “I ran, I fell, and got up and ran again, and again I fell. He of course chased after me, stabbed me again at every opportunity.”

Following the attack, the victim made it to a nearby army checkpoint, where he was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem for treatment.

“I shouted ‘help me, help me!’ I ran to my car while still bleeding and just drove off,” Yehuda recalled.

IDF troops opened fire at one of the terrorists, who was attempting to flee. He was later confirmed dead at the scene by Israeli emergency medical officials.

Three other terrorists escaped and remain at large. Israeli security forces are combing the area in search of the remaining terrorists.

David Rubin, former mayor of Shilo in Judea and Samaria and founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, condemned Sunday evening’s attack. Himself a victim of terror, Rubin told Breaking Israel News, “Sadly, this is not an unusual event here in the biblical heartland of Israel. Those of us who have suffered from the terrorists’ violence and hatred will not be intimidated. At the same time, we will not return such hatred.”

Founded after Rubin and his son were injured in a shooting attack by Palestinian terrorists in 2001, the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund aims to ease the trauma of terrorism in children and rebuild the biblical heartland of Israel.

“My response and the response of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund has been, and will continue to be positive and uplifting, to build for the future of the children of Israel with love, kindness, and determination.”

Sunday evenings attack comes as Israeli security officials are on high alert across Judea and Samaria following the deaths of a Palestinian child and his father. The infant was killed in a firebombing attack in their hometown of Duma, suspected of being carried out by Jewish extremists.

The father, who was seriously wounded in the attack, succumbed to his wounds over the weekend. The baby’s mother Riham and brother Ahmad remain in critical and serious condition.

The firebombing triggered a wave of attacks against Israelis and IDF soldiers as well as violent Palestinian protests. The Gaza-based Hamas terror group has called on its followers to carry out revenge attacks against soldiers and “settlers.”
