David Ha’Ivri: Israel’s Modern-Day Warrior of the Biblical Heartland

David Ha’ivri wears many hats. Considered an Israeli settler and political activist by many, he is the founder and past director of the NGO Shomron Liaison Office, which works closely with local and regional governments in Judea and Samaria to promote the area to the international community.

Since 2014, Ha’ivri has taken his vast knowledge of the Bible and the Biblical heartland of Israel and began teaching it to the masses on Root Source, an online educational website dedicated to teaching Christians about the Bible from knowledgeable Israeli teachers.

Ha’ivri’s series, titled “Land of Israel and the Nations,” brings to life the connection Jews and non-Jews have with the Land of Israel.

“There are many gentiles who believe in the words of the Bible. They trust that God chose the Jewish people for a special mission – to be a light unto the nations. They look to us for direction and I am happy to be part of this process,” noted Ha’ivri to Breaking Israel News.

Born in New York, USA in 1967, Ha’ivri’s family moved to Israel when he was 11-years-old. He has lived in Kfar Tapuach in Samaria for the past 26 years with his family.

Known for his ardent advocacy work on behalf of Judea and Samaria, Ha’ivri believes that all territory controlled by the Israeli government and army between the Jordan River and Mediterranean Sea rightfully belongs to the Jewish People. He has called for the annexation of that land and strongly opposes a two-state solution as the means to solve the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

“The solution,” in his view, “is that Arabs willing to be loyal to the State of Israel can stay. But, if they intend to be disloyal to the country, then they need to find other places to live, maybe in any of the present 22 Islamic countries in the world.”

Online, Ha’ivri is a social-media warrior, defending the Jewish state. “I like building connections with people worldwide,” explained Ha’ivri. “I speak my mind, write, Tweet and interact with people through social media advocating for Israel. I don’t really care if people call me a settler. I am where I believe I should be and doing what I think is right.”

Offline, for example, Ha’ivri’s work with the Shomron Liaison Office has led to increased tourism and understanding of the Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria. “This area has traditionally suffered from a very poor media image and lacked foreign representation and relations,” explained Ha’ivri to Breaking Israel News.

“My success here is clear – not only in the more positive information available today, but through our positive reception at several international events that I initiated and oversaw in European Parliament in Brussels, Capitol Hill in Washington DC, New York, and Lagos, Nigeria. I am proud and satisfied to see today a handful of other organizations following my lead and taking more initiative to spread the core message of Zionism in international arenas.”

Ha’ivri hopes that by providing Christians with an inside look on the importance of various Israeli sites while placing the land in a historic and present day light, will lead to greater understanding of the Jewish claim to Israel.

“Now that we have returned to our land and the nations are witnessing the fulfillment of prophecies and look to us as teachers, we must seize this opportunity and teach the nations Biblical truths,” he said.
