Israel’s latest startup company is unlike any other in the Startup Nation. Not seeking an IPO or the development of technology, the new venture is aiming higher by hoping to create a revolution in Jewish-Christian relations.

Root Source, an online learning platform where knowledgeable Israeli Jews are teaching Christians around the world Jewish concepts “to more deeply understand the roots of their faith,” is hosting their official celebratory launch Monday evening at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center to coincide with Israel’s Independence Week.

Started in September 2014 by Gidon Ariel and Bob O’Dell, Root Source already has thousands of followers and hundreds of students registered for their one of a kind e-learning experience. “We are overwhelmed by the response we have seen,” said Ariel to Breaking Israel News. “I’m excited to herald in a ‘new day’ of Jewish Christian relations and share our vision tonight in the city of Jerusalem.”

The celebratory launch of Root Source will be available to view live online and will be attended by local leaders of the Jewish and Christian communities. Rabbi Tuly Weisz of Israel365 will share introductory remarks, and blessings will be offered by MK Ayoob Kara, Jerusalem City Council member Rabbi Aaron Leibowitz, Sharon Sanders of Christian Friends of Israel, Israel advocate David Ha’Ivri and radio personality Yishai Fleisher.

The keynote address, “Blood Moons – God’s Lovingkindness Towards Jews,” will be delivered by Root Source co-founder O’Dell, who is a leading international expert on the recently discovered Blood Moons phenomenon. In his speech, O’Dell will reveal never-before-presented research on the subject made popular around the world by Root Source.

“I am pleased to give a special gift to the Jewish people in honor of Israel’s birthday,” O’Dell told Breaking Israel News. “The research I have done into the Blood Moons has led me to a startling breakthrough that I hope will be a great source of blessing to Israel.”

Efforts to unite Jews and Christians on behalf of Israel are taking place in a precedent unlike any other time in history.

Root Source’s launch party marking a new era in the relationship between Jews and Christians is not the only event of its kind taking place in Jerusalem this week.

To mark Israel’s Independence Day, the Center for Jewish Christian Understanding and Cooperation (CJCUC) is hosting this Thursday a “Day to Praise” by calling on Jews and Christians around the world to recite Psalms 113-118 “in celebration of God’s covenantal love for the Jewish nation.”

Last week, Israel’s President Reuven Rivlin hosted Christian leaders from across the country to mark the occasion of the Easter holiday, the first such meeting by a sitting Israeli president in 30 years.

Root Source co-founders O’Dell and Ariel are likewise committed to renewed relationships between Christians and Jews.  Ariel told Breaking Israel News, “Jerusalem has always been the root source of God’s word, and it is our prayer that by harnessing the power of  the internet, Root Source will play a part in the realization of the biblical prophecy and promise of bringing Jewish ideals and values from Jerusalem to the entire world.”
