John Hagee

San Antonio Pastor John Hagee, leader of the largest Christian Zionist group in the United States, told members of a large Jewish organization that he believes President Barack Obama is anti-Semitic.

Hagee who founded Christians United for Israel (CUFI) and preaches at Cornerstone Church, told the Zionist Organization of America, that “the executive branch… is in the hands of one of the most anti-Semitic presidents in the history of the United States of America.”

He partially based his observation on the President’s current dealings with Iran, stating that the President “is anxious to accommodate Iran and its nuclear ambitions.” He also referenced Obama’s lack of support for Israel, America’s staunchest ally in the Middle East, in his foreign policy agenda.

Hagee went on to mock the President for calling the relations between the U.S. and Israel ‘unbreakable’. “He knows it’s unbreakable because he’s been trying to break it for the last five years,” Hagee said.

Hagee was being honored by the ZOA when he made the above comments.

Another long time critic of the current administration’s policy towards Israel, US Senator Ted Cruz, headlined at the event alongside Hagee.

Cruz, a likely 2016 presidential candidate spoke about the dangers which Iranian nuclear weapons pose to Israel. The US senator stated that under no circumstances should Iran be allowed to attain nuclear weapons. He called upon the current administration to put a stop to Iran’s nuclear program.

“The threats to Israel right now have never been greater, and now is a time when we do not need leaders who simply speak empty words of support for Israel,” Cruz said. “We need leaders who will stand and act. Now, more than ever, is a time to strengthen the unshakable alliance and friendship America has with the nation of Israel.”
