Palestinians in Gaza fired three rockets towards southern Israel Tuesday afternoon, hours before a third ceasefire extension was set to expire.

Shortly before 4 pm, rocket explosions were heard in Be’er Sheva. The IDF confirmed that two of the rockets struck outside Be’er Sheva and one near Netivot.

All three rockets hit open areas, causing no injuries or damages. No rocket sirens went off ahead of the explosions.

Hamas has threatened in the past to begin firing rockets upon Israel should the Jewish State not give in to the terror group demands during negotiations in Cairo.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the IDF to attack terror targets in Gaza in retaliation to the rocket fire, Haaretz reported.

The last time Hamas fired rockets on Israel was last Wednesday, hours before the ceasefire was extended by five days. Terrorists operating in the Gaza Strip fired eight rockets some three hours before the ceasefire ended and up to one hour after the new one came into effect.

The IDF has already been put on high alert for a possible renewal of violence with Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists. On Monday, all train service to Sderot, which passes through several southern cities that were under constant rocket barrage, were cancelled indefinitely.

The current ceasefire was extended on Monday by Israeli and Palestinian negotiators.
