Mahmoud Abbas: Our Reward For the Death of 64 Soldiers

Now that the negotiations for a long-term ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Hamas-Fatah-Islamic Jihad triumvirate have taken center stage, the messianic peaceniks are once again pushing for the reinstallment of Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas as the ruler in Gaza.

Former President of Israel, Shimon Peres, as a heavily-invested shareholder in the failed “peace process”, continues to be a prime catalyst on the Left  for the recrowning of Abbas, proclaiming that he is a “partner for peace”. Despite his retirement from the ceremonial post of President, Peres continues to use his bully pulpit to pressure Israel to sign a deal with Hamas that would hand the proverbial keys of Gaza over to Abbas and his Fatah terrorists. This approach, so the theory goes, would have Gaza run by the peace-seeking moderates led by Abbas, as opposed to the violent Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists.

Unfortunately, this theory, which seems to be strongly adhered to by the Kerryites in Washington, boldly rivals the “Flat-Earth” theory in its abysmally low level of sophistication. All that one needs to do is to take a quick peek at the proud assertions on the Fatah Facebook page, in order to be disabused of the old and tired peaceful Fatah theory:

“Listen well! To whoever does not know Fatah and argues with this giant movement:

Fatah has killed 11,000 Israelis; Fatah has sacrificed 170,000 Martyrs (Shahids)…; Fatah was the first to carry out operations (i.e., terror attacks) during the first Intifada… Fatah was the first to fight in the second Intifada (i.e., PA terror campaign 2000-2005)… Fatah led the Palestinian attacks on Israel in the UN… Fatah leads the peaceful popular resistance against Israel… Stop and think before you attack [Fatah].”

For an entire month, Israel’s brave youth fought valiantly in the difficult tunnels and alleyways of Gazan cities, with 64 courageous soldiers losing their lives, and with hundreds of others wounded. Did those 64 young men die in vain, all for the purpose of reinstating Mahmoud Abbas as king of Gaza? Are these obsequious Abbas groupies aware that Abbas’ PA pays all of the terrorists salaries for their attacks on Israeli civilians? Are these sanctimonious, Peresitic peaceniks who fawn over “the good terrorists” aware that the PA is an equal opportunity employer – that the salaries go not just to Fatah terrorists, but also to the terrorists of Hamas and Islamic Jihad? Has Abbas also begun funding, hence encouraging, the terrorism of the notorious Islamic State group that is reported to now be active in Gaza?

Throughout the war in Gaza, the Fatah-Hamas unity government has been held together, with its alliance against Israel firmly intact and even strengthened. Despite their slight differences in strategy and public image, could it be that they actually share the goal of destroying Israel?
