Hours after Hamas and Fatah signed an agreement that seeks to form a united Palestinian government against Israel, terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired rockets towards Israel.

Late Wednesday evening, three missiles were fired from the Strip, setting off Red Alert air raid sirens in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, the Sha’ar Hanegev Regional Council, and the town of Sderot.

According to the IDF, two of the rockets landed in open areas. The third rocket landed at the Erez crossing between Israel and Gaza. No injuries or casualties were reported.

The IDF reported that earlier in the day, IAF aircraft carried out a targeted strike in Gaza against two individuals on a motorcycle. The strike occurred in the northern region of Gaza in the city of Beit Lahiya. Reports indicate that between three and 12 people were injured in the attack.

In a statement, the IDF said that the strike was a “joint anti-terror operation” with the Shin Bet. It said “a hit was not identified.”

According to the new site Ynet, the IDF targeted an Islamic Jihad operative. The terrorist was on his way to a launch point in Gaza to conduct more rocket attacks against Israel. Security sources said that he took part in previous attacks on southern Israel.
