Knesset Member and chairman of the Noam party Avi Maoz proposed a bill that would ensure that on any government forms, the terms ‘mother’s name’ and ‘father’s name’ would be written.

Although that was the traditional category listed on official government forms, some branches of the government have changed it to ‘parent 1’ and ‘parent 2’ to accomodate those with same-sex parents. Among such forms is the Defense Ministry when recruiting soldiers into the IDF.

The law proposed by Maoz would compel the forms to say ‘mother’s name’ and ‘father’s name’ on all government applications. The proposal states: “Due to the incitement against Judaism and the Torah of Israel, several Knesset Members have expressed their intention to change official documents in accordance with radical views to change the category from “father’s name” and “mother’s name” to “parent 1” and “parent 2.”

According to Maoz, the goal of the LGBT agenda is to put a dent into the family values accepted by the overwhelming majority of Israeli citizens – secular, traditional, and religious – and even the majority of people in the world. In the proposal, Maoz demands that all government forms that ask to state their parents’ names say the words “father” and “mother.”
