‘Nakba’ day was commemorated this weekend.

The Nakba is the only “Palestinian” holiday. It commemorates the founding of the State of Israel. This year marked the 74th anniversary coinciding with the age of the modern State of Israel. A march was held in Ramallah and major cities throughout the US and Canada over the weekend. The events were overshadowed by the controversial death of Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. On Saturday, protests were held in New York, Minneapolis, Portland, San Francisco, and New Jersey, NJ.

In Paterson, New Jersey, a main road was dedicated to ‘Palestine.’

On Sunday, rallies were held in Chicago, Dallas, Washington, DC, and Los Angeles. Milwaukee, Austin, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and St. Louis, MO.

The Communist Party of Ontario joined the Nakba protests in Toronto.

Protestors were instructed to wear black and red in solidarity with the colors of the ‘Palestinian’ flag.
