Israel’s unemployment rate fell from 3.7% in March to 2.9% in the first half of April.

The Central Bureau of Statistics released a report showing a 50-year-low unemployment rate in April. The report showed 120,000 job seekers and 150,000 employment vacancies.

The workforce participation rate also dropped to 61% in the first half of April from 61.3% during the second half of March.

The report reveals that the high amount of job openings will likely translate into increased salaries.

The Bank of Israel projects a 3.5% unemployment rate by 2022.

For those who remain unemployed, Colel Chabad is there to help. Colel Chabad is a charitable organization that provides coupons for food for families who need them.

For Israelis without a job or those with a job who don’t earn enough to provide for their families, Colel Chabad is their lifeline.

For those who cannot leave their homes due to health reasons, Colel Chabad delivers groceries to their homes.

Although the Israeli government entrusts Colel Chabad to locate and provide food for Israel’s poor, their essential work is funded by private donations from friends of Israel.
