Vyacheslav ‘Daniel’ Golev, the 23-year-old security guard, murdered in Friday’s terror shooting at the entrance to the Samarian city of Ariel, was laid to rest on Sunday in his hometown, Beit Shemesh.

Hundreds of people were in attendance.

Golev is survived by his parents, seven siblings, and fiancée Victoria Fligelman.

Fligelman also manned the checkpoint and survived the shooting when Golev heroically protected her with his body, saving her life.

Israel365 founder Rabbi Tuly Weisz attended the funeral, where he relayed that Daniel was a Russian immigrant who chose to live in Beit Shemesh to be part of a religious community.

He “very much wanted to be a part of the more religious observant Torah community here,” Rabbi Weisz said. Beit Shemesh is also the headquarters of Israel365.
