Public transportation has become a hazard near the Old City of Jerusalem as local Arabs pummel Egged buses with boulders and rocks.

Opposition head Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out against the events in Israel’s capital.

“We can not just go about our daily business as tens of busses are barraged with stones in the heart of Jerusalem. I pray for the recovery of those injured. We must act with an iron fist against terrorism and immediately return the quiet and security to Israel’s capital,” Netanyahu said.

Israel365 News reported that security tensions in Israel in recent weeks hit a new high on April 15, the second Friday of Ramadan and the eve of Passover. By mid-morning Friday, some 300 Palestinian rioters on the Temple Mount had been arrested.
