Fatah Officials Still Revere Founding Terrorists – Who Look Down From the Walls of Fatah Branch Offices

Visits by Fatah Central Committee Deputy Secretary Sabri Saidam to the Movement’s Jericho and Jordan Valley branch office and Hebron branch office illustrate that Fatah today still reveres the principles of its terrorist founders, who look down at today’s Fatah leaders from the office walls.

Hanging on the walls of both offices for present day Fatah leaders to look up to are pictures of the terrorists who founded Fatah: former PLO and PA Chairman Yasser Arafat; Fatah terror leader Abu Ali Iyad; Fatah terror leader and member of the Black September terror organization Kamal Adwan; arch-terrorist Khalil Al-Wazir “Abu Jihad,” who was responsible for the murder of 125, including the Coastal Road massacre in which 37 Israelis, among them 12 children, were murdered; and head of the Black September terror organization Salah Khalaf, responsible for the Munich Olympics Massacre. In addition to the terrorists, the Jericho and Jordan Valley office also exhibited this PA map of “Palestine” (left, in green) that presents all of Israel together with the PA areas as “Palestine,” with the PA flag and the word “Palestine” on it:

Palestinian Media Watch has exposed the PA and Fatah’s use of hundreds if not thousands of maps like this, which serve a key role in the indoctrination of Palestinians to deny Israel’s right to exist in any borders. The PA Ministry of Education is explicit that the map represents a denial of Israel’s right to exist, as is clear from these maps it used at a school event recently:

Sabri Saidam also serves as Fatah Revolutionary Council Deputy Secretary and is the former PA Minister of Education and Higher Education.

Yasser Arafat – Founder of Fatah and former chairman of the PLO and PA. During the 1960s, 70s and 80s Arafat was behind numerous terror attacks against Israelis. Although he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 together with then Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and then Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Shimon Peres “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East” after signing the Oslo Accords peace agreement, Arafat launched a 5-year terror campaign – the second Intifada (2000-2005) – in which more than 1,000 Israelis were murdered. Arafat died of an illness in 2004.

Abu Ali Iyad was appointed head of Fatah military operations in 1966 and was responsible for several terror attacks. The attacks included a bombing in the town of Beit Yosef in northern Israel on April 25, 1966 (injuring 3 people), and placing bombs in the town of Margaliot in northern Israel on July 19, 1966. He was killed in 1971 in Jordan by the Jordanian army when it forced Fatah members out of the country.

Kamal Adwan was responsible for Fatah’s terrorist operations in Israel in the early 1970’s and was a senior member of Black September, a secret branch of Fatah. He was killed by Israeli forces in April 1973.

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) – was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization’s military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks in the 1960’s – 1980’s. These attacks, in which a total of 125 Israelis were murdered, included the most lethal in Israeli history – the hijacking of a bus and murder of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.

Abu Iyad (Salah Khalaf) – PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat’s deputy, one of the founders of Fatah, and head of the terror organization Black September, a secret branch of Fatah. Attacks he planned include the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972) and the murder of two American diplomats in Sudan (March 1, 1973). It is commonly assumed that his assassin, a former Fatah bodyguard, was sent by the Abu Nidal Organization, a rival Palestinian faction.
