Israel’s Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beitenu) announced his plan on Monday to assist small and medium-sized businesses hurt by the COVID restrictions.

According to the plan, businesses that can prove an annual revenue loss of at least thirty-five percent from January-February 2022 compared to the same months in 2019 (before the covid restrictions) will qualify to collect up to NIS 600,000 ($185,000).

The aid package will also include incentives for hiring and property tax exemptions, among several other benefits. Businesses with annual revenue of up to 60 million shekels ($18.5 million) will qualify.

“The implementation of this outline without bureaucracy will enable the delivery of assistance and oxygen to businesses that were significantly hurt,” Lieberman said.

Although the plan is a ray of light for small businesses reeling from the covid lockdowns, it’s too little too late. Furthermore, many companies that suffered significant losses won’t qualify.

Many small business owners who fell through the cracks now wonder how they’ll feed their families.

Luckily for them, Colel Chabad is there to help.

Colel Chabad is a charitable organization that provides food to Israelis who need it most.

They do this by distributing food vouchers as well as delivering free groceries to people’s homes.

Most importantly, Colel Chabad provides these small business owners with a sense of food security. However, Colel Chabad themselves need financial security to continue their holy work.

Unfortunately, Colel Chabad’s costs have risen due to inflation, and their donations have dwindled.

Can you help feed an Israeli family?

If you can, please consider donating to Colel Chabad today.
