During the seven-day mourning period known in Judaism as a shiva, ex-Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard recalled the words of his recently deceased wife, Esther.
While speaking to those present, Pollard called for “a real Jewish government, a Jewish army, and Jewish generals to lead them like Yehoshua (Joshua) Ben-Nun, and she said if we have all of these things, we can fight al kiddush Hashem (for the glory of God).”
Pollard went on to say that once this happens, Israel would be able to allow God to essentially take over and win the wars for the nation of Israel. “We can fight Hashem’s wars, and we can show him that we’re fighting al kiddush Hashem, and he’ll say ‘ok’ she said, I’ll take over.”
“And the geula (redemption) will come with a kiss rather than blood and suffering.”
