The Israeli Health Ministry published a scathing response on Saturday to Professor Idit Matot for decrying the government’s panic-driven Covid policies. The ministry called her sentiments “irresponsible” reports Mako.

Her post was tweeted by The Ichilov Hospital’s official Twitter account where she wrote: “These days, we are marking two years since the corona outbreak and to my dismay, if there is one thing that is guiding the decision-makers, it is fear-mongering.”

The post was tweeted several hours after the corona ward at Ichilov published a Facebook post saying that most corona cases in the hospital are not being hospitalized due to Covid. The Health Ministry responded by attacking Dr. Matot saying: “As the health system is investing major resources to protect public health and save lives, loud agitators are popping up, many of them doctors who make irresponsible statements whose goal is to break the public’s trust.”

In her full statement, Dr. Matot explained that the Omricon variant is far less dangerous than previous variants. And although she admitted that Omiron is highly contagious, she added that its effect on health is extremely underwhelming. She stressed that in ichilov not even one person with Omicron is hooked up to oxygen.

Dr. Matot also added that the flu is far more deadly than Omicron but doesn’t enjoy the same type of publicity. Dr. Matot also revealed that all people in the hospital listed as corona patients were not admitted because of corona but rather other injuries. This includes patients who were injured from things like: “falling off of a scooter and other infections.”

She even recalled two patients listed in serious condition whereby one suffered from a serious car crash and the second was in for a brain hemorrhage – both listed as hospitalized corona patients. They happen to have tested positive for Covid.

The esteemed doctor went on to call the media reports of hospitalized corona patients “misleading.”

“There are just a few lone serious Covid cases and many of them are inaccurately listed in worsening condition giving a false unjustified sense of serious cases which n reality only cause panic and lead to problematic decision making,” she said.

Dr, Matot then decried the policy of quarantine saying that instead of relating to the variant, “people must now be imprisoned in their homes and we are de facto in a type of lockdown and the country is on the verge of collapse.”

“Have we gone mad? And for what?” she wrote calling the Covid-hysteria a “matter of branding.”

Dr. Matot also decried the quarantines which she says are “stealing childhoods, development, learning, and instilling fear inside of them, emotional problems and regression.”

In a final plea, she called on the nation to “save our future generation but also save the parents who are isolating their children.”
