A 14-year-old Arab girl terrorist who stabbed a Jewish woman in Jerusalem on Wednesday was discovered to be carrying several Palestinian Authority textbooks with text inciting violence when she was apprehended, an Israeli watchdog revealed on Thursday.

The Israeli police said arrested the teenager in her school soon after she stabbed 26-year-old Moriah Cohen — her family’s neighbor in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shimon Hatzadik — as the victim was walking her five children to school.

IMPACT-se, an Israeli nonprofit that audits educational textbooks used by the Palestinian Authority, said that the terrorist carried books featuring several “violent” materials in her backpack when she was arrested. The materials included a lesson on reading comprehension that described a terrorist attack on Israelis as a “barbecue party/” It also featured a statistics lesson using a frequency table that showed the amount of “martyrs” that were killed by Israel, and social studies material depicting armed resistance as “natural” and “legitimate.”

“It is hard to imagine a more tragic metaphor for the brazen antisemitism and encouragement to violence in the Palestinian curriculum, than a 14-year-old Palestinian girl stabbing a visibly Jewish woman while carrying the Palestinian Authority’s inciteful textbooks in her backpack,” the Watchdog’s CEO Marcus Sheff said. “These textbooks are strategically created by the PA to promote a culture of hate and violence among 1.3 million children.”

“I truly hope those countries that still support the Palestinian Ministry of Education and UNRWA are paying close attention and drawing the appropriate conclusions,” Sheff added, referring to the UN body serving alleged Palestinian refugees that have been heavily criticized for employing antisemitic and violent materials in its schools.

The watchdog group said that its previous analyses of the PA curriculum discovered the “highest levels of incitement to violence” in textbooks for grades seven through eleven.

The terrorist’s school was well known for promoting extremist material, the group said. Among them was a post on its Facebook page earlier this year featuring a girl reading a poem that said, “I am a sword turned against the enemies of my homeland.”

The victim was lightly injured in the stabbing attack.
