ISIS Eyeing Iranian Nuclear Secrets

A manifesto purportedly written by a senior military commander belonging to ISIS claims that the terror group’s next move is aimed towards Iran, the London Sunday Times reported.

The manifesto is said to have been written by Abdullah Ahmed al-Meshedani, a member of ISIS’s “war cabinet” who was captured in Iraq during a raid in March. The policy document is believed to have been written for senior members of ISIS.

The document outlines a plan that would see the Sunni radical Islamist terror organization gaining Iran’s nuclear secrets with the aid of Russia. Authenticated by Western security officials, ISIS would give Russia access to a major ISIS-held gas field in Iraq in exchange for “Iran and its nuclear program.”

Russia, a close ally of Iran, is a major contributor to the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program. Russia built and continues to help operate the Bushehr nuclear power.

The manifesto proposes that in order to gain access to the gas field, which is located in the Anbar province in Iraq, Russia would need to back Sunni Gulf states against Iran and Syria and cut all ties with Iran.

The document outlines additional steps, such as “Nazi-style eugenics” and intelligence gathering operations to monitor political leaders.

Al-Meshedani called on ISIS militants to killed Shiite Iraqi officials, the majority of Muslims in Iraq, as well as military leaders and members of any Iranian-backed operations.

The ultimate goal of ISIS, the manifesto stated, is to strip Iran of “all its power” by killing the Islamic Republic’s teachers, businessmen and diplomats. The document even recommends destroying the Iranian caviar industry and “exterminating” its famous carpet industry by flooding the market with Afghan rugs.

In total, the manifesto outlined 70 proposals, many of them unrealistic, in order to consolidate ISIS’s power, the report said.

Iran has already warned ISIS that it will not hesitate to attack jihadists inside Iraq should they come close to the Iranian border. ISIS controls a large swath of territory north of Baghdad which border Iran.

“If the terrorist group (ISIS) comes near our borders, we will attack deep into Iraqi territory and we will not allow it to approach out border,” said General Ahmad Reza Pourdestana, an Iranian ground forces commander on September 27.

The US, with the help of Israel and other members of a global coalition formed to combat ISIS, has been carrying out airstrikes against jihadist locations in Iraq and Syria.

In his recent speech to the UN General Assembly, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned the international community that it would only be a matter of time, should the world not take action, that ISIS gets its hands on nuclear weapons.
