A beheaded corpse was found by residents of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Wednesday in what is believed to be an act of murder carried out by ISIS affiliated terrorists.

Found with the body was a note accusing the victim of being an Israeli spy

This is the eighth beheading that the ISIS linked terror group, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, claims to have carried out in under a month. ISIS has been condemned internationally for their brutal killings and is now the target of US air strikes in Iraq.

Residents from a village south of Shikh Zuweid in northern Sinai told reporters from Reuters that the note accused the dead man of being an agent for Israel’s Mossad spy agency and was signed by Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis.

“This is the fate of all who prove to be traitors to their homeland,” the note stated.

According to a report last week by Reuters, ISIS leadership has been advising the Sinai-based terror group on how to increase their effectiveness of carrying out terror attacks in the region.

Last month, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis said it beheaded four Egyptians for providing Israel with intelligence that led to an airstrike which killed three of its fighters.

The terror group posted a video on Twitter showing the headings which are reminiscent of those beheadings carried out by ISIS.

The four decapitated bodies were found in the same town as Wednesday’s, which lies some 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the Gaza border. The four men were kidnapped from Cairo several days before the executions.

Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis is one of Egypt’s most radical Islamist terror groups. Since the rise of President Mohamed Morsi and the toppling of the Muslim Brotherhood, Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis has stepped up its attacks on police and soldiers.

Among the many attacks the group has claimed responsibility for, a top Egyptian police general was assassinated as he left his home in a west Cairo neighborhood and the bus bombing of a tour bus full of South Korean tourists in Sinai.
