As part of the international Blue Flag exercise, Israeli Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin and German Air Force Commander Lt. Gen. Ingo Gerhartz led a joint flight over Jerusalem. The commanders also visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Center, where they participated in a memorial ceremony at the Hall of Remembrance. During the ceremony, the commanders lit the eternal flame and laid a memorial wreath in honor of the victims of the Holocaust. The Blue Flag exercise is taking place in Israel from October 17 through October 28, 2021 and has occurred every two years since 2013. Together, the United States, the UK, Greece, France, India, Germany and Italy are drilling operational scenarios and working to strengthen alliances.
