Well, this is awkward…

Ben & Jerry’s founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were recently interviewed by Axios on HBO’s Alexi McCammond on their recent decision to boycott Israel. However, Cohen was at a loss for words once McCammond challenged his progressive agenda and probed him about boycotting US states with abortion bans.

“You guys are big proponents of voting rights. Why do you still sell ice cream in Georgia? Texas — abortion bans. Why are you still selling there?” McCammond proposed.

Following several awkward seconds of silence, Cohen admitted that he didn’t know.

“It’s an interesting question. I don’t know what that would accomplish. We’re working on those issues, of voting rights, and…I don’t know. I think you ask a really good question. And I think I’d have to sit down and think about it for a bit.”

In July, Ben and Jerry’s, a Vermont-based multinational ice cream company, announced on its website that it would no longer be selling its products in the “Occupied Palestinian Territory”.
