Democrats move to file resolution that may result in barring Jews from Jerusalem Holy Sites

I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the Valley of Yehoshafat. There I will contend with them Over My very own people, Yisrael, Which they scattered among the nations. For they divided My land among themselves

One week after a group of Democratic Congressmen tried to block funding of the defensive Iron Dome system for Israel, another Democratic Congressman introduced the “Two-State Solution Act” which, if it passes, may result in Jews being prohibited from visiting the Temple Mount and the other holy sites in Judea and Samaria.

Jews calling to divide Israel

On Thursday, Representative Andy Levin (D-Michigan) filed the “Two-State Solution Act”  with Congress. Levin, who was born Jewish, stated on his website that the resolution “marked the end of the High Holy Days.” Levin’s resolution that would result in Jews being barred from the Biblical heartland, a region Levin referred to as “the occupied Palestinian territories.”

The resolution was co-sponsored by anti-Israel “Jewish” organizations, J-Street and Peace Now. J-Street is backed by billionaire currency manipulator George Soros.

Though the details of the resolution have not been publicized, Levin claims it “clarifies the distinction between Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories and reverses policies put in place by the Trump administration that removed such distinctions”. On his website, Levin described Trump’s administration as “warmongering”. It should be noted that under Trump, no new conflicts were initiated and he brokered the Abraham Accords.

The resolution calls to restrict aid to Israel being used to “perpetuate the occupation or enable de facto or de jure annexation”.

The resolution called for terminating the designation of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as a terrorist organization, claiming that the PLO has been “certified” to be in compliance with the Taylor Force Act, incentivizing compliance with the Taylor Force Act. This claim is dubious as the PLO recently announced that it was paying $15 million per month in stipends to convicted terrorists and their families as part of their “Martyrs’ Fund”. On this basis, the resolution called for the reopening of the PLO foreign mission in Washington, DC.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky supported the resolution, saying “This summer’s escalation between Israel and Hamas, and the continued cycle of violence in the region, underscores the urgent need for a negotiated two-state solution.” Her statements were a bit perplexing as the Two-State Solution is purportedly a negotiated agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority and does not involve Hamas. The conflict in May was between Israel and Hamas, initiated after the terrorist organization fired over 4,600 rockets at Israeli cities.

The Two-State Solution would result in the creation of an unprecedented Palestinian state inside the borders of Israel in Judea and Samaria, ethnically cleansed of Jews, with its capital in Jerusalem.

Not all Democrats are anti-Israel

Marc Zell,  chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel, explained that a return to the pre-1967 borders would also mean a return to the pre-Six-Day War condition in which Jews were prohibited from visiting the Biblical holy sites.

“We don’t have to conjecture whether a ‘Two-State Solution’ would result in Jews being barred from their holiest sites,” Zell said. “We already saw that from 1948 when Jews were not allowed to visit the Western Wall or the Temple Mount, and the Machpelah in Hebron. Even though the Oslo Accords established the Palestinian Authority on the basis of Jews being allowed to access their holy sites, that is not the case in Palestinian-controlled areas like Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem.”

“The legislation may pass the House but it has no chance of passing the Senate,” Zell said. “We actually saw in the Iron Dome legislation that there is a lot of support for Israel among the Democrats. I think the Iron Dome legislation was a wake-up call for Democrats who are still pro-Israel. The vote had 420 votes in support of the funding of the Iron Dome. We haven’t seen that kind of bipartisan support for Israel in a long time. It may be that this anti-Israel legislation is a slap back, an attempt to offset the Israel support that was evident in the Iron Dome legislation.”

Resolution: Pro-BDS

J-Post reportedly viewed a copy of Levin’s resolution which would establish American policy as “the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and Gaza, are occupied territories” and that territory would be “referred to as such consistently in official US policies, communications, and documents.”

In a manner consistent with the anti-semitic Boycott Divestment Sanctions movement, the resolution calls to reverse the current US policy that allows products produced in Judea and Samaria to be marked “made in Israel.” Under the terms of his bill, such language would be forbidden and replaced with an origin marker, stating “made in West Bank” or “made in east Jerusalem.”

The act calls to prohibit US support for any Israeli projects located over the Green Line and bans Israeli use of its military aid in those regions.
