Major Asteroid to whiz by Earth on Sukkoth: ‘A prelude to Gog and Magog’, says rabbi

Asteroid 2021 NY1 is predicted by NASA to whiz past Earth at almost 21,000 miles per hour on Wednesday. The asteroid, measuring between 427 and 984 feet wide, will come within 930,487 miles of hitting the planet.

Asteroids

“2021 NY1 orbits the sun every 1,400 days (3.83 years), coming as close as 0.99 AU and reaching as far as 3.90 AU from the sun,” SpaceReference.org says of the asteroid.

2021 NYI will be the third significant asteroid to visit this section of the solar system this month, the first two passing by on September 9th and September 11th.It is  It is one of the 17 near-Earth objects that scientists have been tracking for the last 60 days. According to the European Space Agency’s Near-Earth Objects database, a total of 29 near-earth objects will fly close to earth this month.

Earlier this month, NASA said a new study raised the possibility that the asteroid Bennu could hit Earth sometime by 2300.

Though this may not sound close in absolute terms, its size, speed, and proximity have led NASA to classify it as a potentially hazardous “Near-Earth Object” (NEO). NASA defines NEOs as “an asteroid or comet that approaches our planet less than 1.3 times the distance from Earth to the Sun.”

NASA’s major misses

NASA established the Near-Earth Object (NEO) program in 1998 to track asteroids that were on a trajectory that would bring them close to home and that measured 460 feet in diameter or larger. Since its inception, the NEO has identified almost one million asteroids with  90 percent of them measuring larger than 3,200 feet across. To be qualified as having a close approach, the NEO must be within 121 million miles of the Sun and within 30 million miles of Earth’s orbit around the sun.

The Planetary Defense Coordination Office (PDCO) was established in 2016 to detect any potentially hazardous object. Since the PDCO was established, at least four major impacts have been reported. Only three impact events have been successfully predicted in advance, usually by only a few hours.  Currently, predictions are mainly based on cataloging asteroids years before they are due to impact. This works well for larger asteroids as they are easily seen from a long distance but is ineffective for predicting smaller objects that can still be quite destructive.

Despite these impressive statistics, the NEO has logged some significant misses. On 15 February 2013 a meteor approximately 66 ft entered Earth’s atmosphere over Russia at a speed of approximately 40,000 mph. Due to its high velocity and shallow angle of atmospheric entry, the object exploded in an airburst over Chelyabinsk Oblast, at a height of around 18.5 miles, releasing 26 to 33 times as much energy as that released from the atomic bomb detonated at Hiroshima. The object was undetected before its atmospheric entry, in part because its radiant was close to the Sun. Its explosion created panic among local residents. About 1,500 people were injured seriously enough to seek medical treatment and some 7,200 buildings in six cities across the region were damaged by the explosion’s shock wave.

16 hours later, 367943 Duende, an asteroid approximately 100 feet in diameter, passed within 17,200 miles of the earth.

Yuval Ovadia: Asteroids are an appetizer for Gog and Magog

Yuval Ovadia,  whose films on Nibiru have garnered hundreds of thousands of views, noted that asteroid sightings have been on the rise for the past ten years, but this year is on an entirely new scale.

“What we are seeing is certainly a part of the end of days but not in the way many people think,” Ovadia said. “This is an appetizer, a little sound and light show that is a sneak preview of Gog and Magog.”

“Just like the plagues hit Egypt for a full year, we are just beginning to see the forces of nature in ways we have never seen them before. Just as in Egypt, this is to give the people a chance to repent. After the redemption, after Gog and Magog, there will be no repentance.”

Ovadia explained that Jewish sources describe a star that will appear in the end of days, wreaking havoc but not destroying the world, what many refer to as Nibiru.

As Nibiru approaches, more asteroids will appear,” Ovadia said. “Nibiru is described in Jewish sources as a star, not as an asteroid. But as it approaches, it pushes asteroids ahead of it like a ship pushes water in front of it.”

Ovadia bases his statements on classical Jewish esoteric sources.Ovadia explained that the renowned medieval scholar Maimonides described the prophecy of Balaam in the Bible as referring to astronomical phenomena presaging the Messiah.

What I see for them is not yet, What I behold will not be soon: A star rises from Yaakov, A scepter comes forth from Yisrael; It smashes the brow of Moab, The foundation of all children of Shet. Numbers 24:17

“The prophets foretold that asteroids and other astronomical events would presage the final redemption,” Ovadia said.

“Before the great and terrible day of Hashem comes,* I will set portents in the sky and on earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke;” Joel 3:3

“Everyone looks at geopolitical developments fo hints of Gog and Magog,” Ovadia said. “The pre-Messiah war is really quite simple. First, the Messiah will appear and then, the nations will rise up against him. We will see the nations rising up against Jerusalem. Until we see that, it is not Gog and Magog.”

“There is no natural way that Israel can make it through Gog and Magog like the prophets say we will. The only way is if nature fights for us. This is what happened in Egypt. The only way for slaves to rise up against the most powerful nation of the time was if nature fought for them.”

Ovadia noted that according to Jewish sources, the final war will begin on Sukkoth.

“It is already too late for Gog and Magog to begin this year. But when it does come, the forces of nature will fight for Israel. We will just be sitting in our Sukkoth, celebrating the holiday as events unfold. It might be that asteroids will come raining down from the skies, something NASA has no protection against. This is like the plagues that struck Egypt. The Egyptians thought they ruled over nature but when the Redemption began, they were powerless.”
