The fast of Gedaliah took place on Thursday.
During that day, many Jewish people who were fasting went up to the Temple Mount commemorating the anniversary of the end of Judean autonomy before the first exile.
During one of the tours, a man sat down on the floor. When that happened, a police officer who was assigned to the Temple Mount approached him telling him that he was not allowed to “sit down like that.”
The man demanded to understand why he was being accosted by the police who responded telling him that he is not sitting but rather “bowing.”
The officers then demanded he give over his personal information to them.
