Trump calls out Biden, Dems for not supporting Israel

See, a time is coming—declares Hashem—when I will raise up a true branch of David‘s line. He shall reign as king and shall prosper, and he shall do what is just and right in the land.

Former President Donald Trump released a statement slamming the Biden administration for its handling of the Arab violence in Israel and the rockets from Gaza targeting urban centers:

When I was in office we were known as the Peace Presidency, because Israel’s adversaries knew that the United States stood strongly with Israel and there would be swift retribution if Israel was attacked. Under Biden, the world is getting more violent and more unstable because Biden’s weakness and lack of support for Israel is leading to new attacks on our allies. America must always stand with Israel and make clear that the Palestinians must end the violence, terror, and rocket attacks, and make clear that the U.S. will always strongly support Israel’s right to defend itself. Unbelievably, Democrats also continue to stand by crazed anti-American Rep. Ilhan Omar, and others, who savagely attack Israel while they are under terrorist assault.

As President Trump was banned from several social media platforms, the statement was made on his website.

President Trump’s term in office was characterized by unprecedented support of Israel highlighted by recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the subsequent Embassy move, recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and announcing that Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria did not violate international law.

Unlike previous presidents, Trump held the Palestinian Authority accountable for their actions. After the PA brought charges against Israel in the International Criminal Court Hague, Trump ordered the PLO Mission in Washington DC to be closed as per the conditions outlined in an agreement signed by the PA. Trump also cut off financial aid to the PA as per the Taylor Force Act which prohibits federal aid from being given to a government that sponsors terrorism. A substantial part of the PA budget goes toward paying terrorists and their families for attacks against Jews.

As he correctly pointed out in his statement, Trump’s approach to diplomacy resulted in several peace agreements, most notably the Abraham Accords which normalized relations between Israel, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and, subsequently, Yemen and Sudan.

In contrast, Biden has reestablished financial aid to the PA and Hamas. Biden has also removed economic sanctions against Iran which funds much of the terrorism in Gaza.

It was reported that President Biden wrote a letter to Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Monday asking him to end the current escalation with Israel. Since the receipt of the letter by Abbas, Arab rioting in Lod resulted in the destruction of at least three synagogues and many businesses. There has also been an increase in rocket fire from Gaza with over 600 falling overnight.

Trump’s reference to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was also accurate. On Monday, Omar tweeted out that Israel’s military response to over one thousand Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad missiles targeting urban centers was “terrorism.” She also bizarrely suggested that the Palestinians should be provided with the Iron Dome, the Israeli anti-missile system, to protect them from Israeli attacks.

Her point may have been inadvertently justified as she cited cases in which young children were killed. The IDF verified that fully one-third of the rockets fired by Hamas and PIJ terrorists never made it out of Gaza and frequently landed on their own people, resulting in tragic deaths.

Biden’s State Department released a statement on Monday calling on both sides to deescalate tensions and describing the firing of rockets from Gaza as “unacceptable escalation.”

When asked if the US policy of supporting national self-defense extended to the “Palestinians”, spokesman Ned Price said, “Broadly speaking…, we believe in the concept of self-defense. We believe it applies to any state.”

Mike Pompeo, Trump’s Secretary of State, agreed with his former boss, tweeting out his belief that the implicit message from the White House emboldened the enemies of Israel.
