Israeli Security forces continue their wide-ranging security sweeps in Judea and Samaria as Operation Brothers Keeper enters its twelfth day. Overnight Monday, the IDF arrested four Palestinians and searched 120 buildings in Hebron as part of search efforts to find three kidnapped Israeli teens by terrorists.

Since the start of Brothers Keeper, the IDF has aimed part of its focus at substantially weakening Hamas’s infrastructure. Israel says the Gaza-based radical Islamist terror group is behind the kidnappings.

One week before Gilad Shaar, 16, Naftali Frenkel, 16, and Eyal Yifrach, 19, were abducted by terrorists, Hamas called on members of its armed wing to carry out violence and kidnappings against IDF soldiers and Israelis in Judea and Samaria.

So far, Israeli security forces have searched more than 1,800 locations and arrested an estimated 360 Palestinians. Of those arrested, 269 are members of Hamas and 57 of them were released by Israel in 2011 as part of a deal made to release captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

On Monday, the Shin Bet lifted a gag order on information about an arrest made in May of the terrorists behind the Passover eve murder of policeman Baruch Mizrahi.

Ziad Awad, 42, and his 18-year-old son Az Al-Adin Awad, are charged with the murder and attempted murder for carrying out a shooting attack on the Mizrahi vehicle, which instantly killed Baruch Mizrahi and injured his wife and children.

According to the Shin Bet, the shooting was religiously motivated. Ziad Awad told his son that “according to Islam, whoever kills a Jew goes to heaven.” Ziad Awad was released in 2011 as part of the Shalit deal.

Israel’s Channel 10 reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, when made aware of the elder Awad’s arrest and other previously released Hamas terrorists during the early days of Operation Brothers Keeper, ordered the IDF to arrest other freed terrorists.
