Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei took to Twitter on Wednesday to bash Israel. Calling the Jewish state a “fake nation” and the “most wicked terrorists,” the Iranian leaders rant came on the eve of Nakba day, the day Palestinians and those who support them mark the creation of the State of Israel as a national tragedy.

“#Israel was initially established thru oppression, massacre & lie; an invader aided by UK expelled #Palestinians out of their home. #NakbaDay,” one tweet read.

Khamenei began has Twitter onslaught against Israel shortly after 9 pm Israel time, an hour before the official start of Nakba Day in Iran.

“During the over half a century since the existence of #fake Israeli state, suppression, lies & deception have been central to Israel’s survival,” a second tweet stated.

Referencing a recent statement by US President Barack Obama about partnering with Israel to fight terrorism, Khamenei asked, “Which terrorists?! The Palestinian who’s been driven out of his homeland?! No! The most wicked #terrorists of the world is fake Israeli govt.”

The latest attack on Israel is simply another occasion of the ongoing rhetoric used by the Khameini and other Iranian leaders against Israel. In the past, Khameini has referred to Israel as an “illegitimate and bastard regime” and the “rabid dog of the region.”

Palestinians and their sympathizers mark Nakba Day in and around Israel with violent protests. Three years ago, a record-high amount of violence broke out along the Syrian and Lebanese border with Israel. Around 15 protestors, mainly from Palestinian refugee camps, were killed in clashes with IDF forces when they tried to storm the border.

That same year, an Arab terrorist from the village of Kfar Kassem went on a driving rampage for about two kilometers in Tel Aviv. He smashed into vehicles and ran over Israelis along the way. One man was killed and over a dozen injured in the attack. The terrorist was sentenced to life imprisonment.
