Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S, Ron Dermer, is currently lobbying Republican lawmakers as well as White House Administration officials, to support Jerusalem’s efforts in acting quickly to assert Israeli sovereignty over Jewish populated areas of Judea and Samaria Channel 13 reported on Monday.
Dermer reportedly said during his meetings on Capitol Hill: “We need to move ahead with annexation now because we don’t know what could be the outcome of the Presidential elections in November.”
“Joe Biden might win,” he said according to reports. “There is a narrow window, and we should act now,” according to Channel 13.
An official from Trump’s administration said that Dermer expressed Israel’s desire to go forward with applying its sovereignty to Jewish areas of Judea and Samaria according to the JPost. “He said that it should be done, and the quicker, the better,” the official stated. “He did not necessarily mention any connection to the upcoming elections.”
And although Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that annexation was an Israeli decision, the State Department Spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus seemed to have backtracked saying that should Israel apply its laws to settlements in Judea and Samaria, it should be a joint effort of Israelis and Palestinians collaborating towards implementing President Trump’s peace plan.
“We think these discussions should be part of the peace process, part of discussions between the Israelis and the Palestinians,” Ortagus said.
The State Department Spokesperson stressed this talking point several times, adding: “We really think annexation should be part of a peace process where Palestinians should have a say.”
Prayer: Let us pray that God gives Israel the support from their allies in the United States to fulfill his Biblical commandment to inherit the land of Israel as written in Deuteronomy.

Verse: When you enter the land that Hashem your God is giving you as a heritage, and you possess it and settle in it (Deuteronomy 26:1)
